Finding the positives
First I'd just like to say thanks to everybody for their wishes, thoughts and prayers. So many great people out there, sometimes it's hard to believe we're all sitting behind monitors ;~)
Ya know, in comparison to 9/11 this was a tiny thing and amazingly little panic. People were still going about their biz as usual just a couple of hours after the first explosion. Brits seem to handle things well and nothing much phases us. It's that stiff upper lip thing.
Out of all the news clips and live news things I've been watching I don't think I've seen one person crying or panicking, apart from maybe a relative or 2.
London and the Uk has had a history of unrest. Things like IRA and bombings in WW2 etc, it's almost like we're immune to it all and we have an "ok, it happened, lets fix it" kind of attitude.
As a country we're outraged, yeah, but that's about it. Heck, even G8 started up again soon after the explosions, because that's "more important".
It's good though. Not showing weakness at times like this makes these horrible acts less effective. We just give them the finger and say "Hey! You can take our lives but you can't take our freedom!"
Some ppl are scared, others will probably never use the underground again, but it'll be a case of "life goes on" just as it always is ;~)

One of the benefits of living in the "free world..."
These terrorist infidels will never understand what it is to live WITHOUT the fear of their totalitarian overlords, and thus, the central error of the idea that fear WORKS to motivate us toward anything whatsoever...national and corporate outrage, certainly, but then individually, we each know the truth that LIFE GOING ON without the need for revenge, is the HIGHEST form of CONTEMPT for the atrocities...the best revenge as individuals is simply to shrug off any need of individual revenge at all.
THIS is the JUSTICE that God requires of each of us.

I totally understand how you feel, and truly appreciate your thoughts.
The thing that gets me is that we still don't know for sure WHO did this. Blair blamed it on terrorists, and everybody jumped to the conclusion that it was Al Qaeda extremists or similar.
As it stands now, for all we know it could have been a couple of 16 year olds who learnt how to make bombs when surfing the net, it could have been the IRA, it could have been somebody who is unhappy with our government. It could have been just about anybody. We just don't know for sure yet.
Either way, whoever did it IS to be classed as a terrorist, because it's a pure terror attack on innocent people.
